Campus Westend
With just under 50,000 students, Johann Wolfgang Goethe University is one of the largest in Germany. The various departments are spread across five locations in the city, with the campus in the Westend district forming the main campus. This includes the I. G. Farben building, which was once the corporate headquarters of I. G. Farbenindustrie, as well as numerous new buildings such as the House of Finance and the central lecture hall building. The extensive, almost park-like grounds are home to numerous cafés that invite visitors to linger in the greenery even without attending lectures.
