Offenbach borders directly on Frankfurt, and the two cities have even formed a contiguous settlement area. The network of public transportation is correspondingly well connected and so the distances are short. In the past, Offenbach was primarily known as a center of the leather goods industry; today, the leather museum still reminds us of this time. Other highlights of the city include the harbor area, where, among other things, the internationally known club Robert Johnson is located. In addition, Offenbach is home to the headquarters of the German Weather Service.
