Oper Frankfurt
Together with the Schauspiel Frankfurt, the opera house forms the Städtische Bühnen. The twin complex is located on Willy-Brandt-Platz, within walking distance of the main railway station, and has a 120-metre-long glass façade and a shared foyer, under the ceiling of which hangs the sculpture Gold Clouds by Hungarian artist Zoltán Kemény (1907-1965). The opera hall seats over 1,300 guests. Bernd Loebe has been the artistic director since 2002. Under his leadership, the opera has been named Opera House of the Year several times by the magazine Opernwelt – appreciated above all for its mixture of innovative repertoire, in which the repertoire also finds a place.
