Die Katakombe
Centrally located between Konstablerwache and the zoo, the Katakombe is a fixture in Frankfurt's bustling city center. Since 1982, it has been based in a former cinema; before that, the theater, founded in 1960, was at home near the banks of the Main. The auditorium seats up to 150 guests, and the rows in the hall are arranged like grandstands. From there, one has a good view of what is being shown, which ranges from productions of classical plays to modern adaptations. The repertoire is time-related and socio-critical.
