The English Theatre
The English Theatre Frankfurt is not only the only English-language theater in Frankfurt, but also the largest on the European mainland. Founded in 1979, it can look back on an eventful past, including several relocations within Frankfurt. Since 2001, the venue has been the Gallileo high-rise building in the station district, which seats 300 spectators. But this venue is also currently being renovated: The program is therefore expected to take place in the Zoogesellschaftshaus in Ostend until summer 2025. But no matter where: the repertoire is varied and ranges from comedies and parodies, thrillers and crime stories to dramas, tragedies and musicals. The actors are all native speakers and are cast anew for each production. The theater usually also has its own bar called "James the Bar", where drinks are served and plays are performed by the in-house drama club.
