Curtain's up! It's Showtime

Frankfurt is one of the most important theater cities in Germany. Renowned stages such as the Opera, Schauspiel or English Theatre offer variety for every taste.

Around 20 stages, over 50 theater groups and more than 100 performances a week - Frankfurt has all this to offer and is thus at the top in a Germany-wide comparison. The top stage in the city is the Frankfurt Opera House. It has already been awarded the title of "Opera of the Year" seven times - most recently in 2023, making it one of the most important opera houses in Europe. Right next door is the largest spoken theater in the Rhine-Main region - Schauspiel Frankfurt.

But in addition to the big stages, it is also the numerous small stages that make up the diversity of the city. Whether it's Frankfurt dialect, experimental performances in former factory halls or free open-air programs in the summer - boredom is out of the question.
