DFF – Deutsches Filminstitut & Filmmuseum
The Deutsches Filmmuseum, or DFF for short, is special in Frankfurt because it uniquely combines museum, cinema, archives and collections, festivals, digitization projects, research, and numerous educational opportunities. The whole thing is presented on the Museumsufer, at the foot of the popular Schweizer Straße, on several floors and around 800 square meters. While the permanent exhibition features exciting exhibits and operable models, the special exhibitions are dedicated to a wide variety of cinematic topics from Disney to the deep sea. In the open film studio on the 4th floor, visitors can become part of the film themselves, and in the basement there is - of course - a cinema.
