Deutsches Architekturmuseum (DAM)
The German Architecture Museum, or DAM for short, was opened in 1984 as the first architecture museum in Germany. It is located on the Museumsufer in an iconic postmodern building with a house-within-a-house designed by Oswald Mathias Ungers. Changing exhibitions on national and international architecture and urban planning themes are organized there, while the permanent exhibition "From the primitive hut to the skyscraper" illustrates the history of architectural development using 25 model panoramas. There is also a focus on the educational program, which offers children and adults access to architectural topics in a playful and practical way. ATTENTION: Due to renovation work, the Architecture Museum is currently located in the interim DAM Ostend quarter not far from Frankfurt's Ostbahnhof station.
