In this cooking class, Gillian, a passionate expert in African cuisine, invites you on a delightful journey. With her knowledge of the entire continent and her roots in Kenya, she will introduce you to the unique food culture of her homeland. The focus of the course is Kenyan cuisine - a fascinating combination of fresh ingredients, intense spices and traditional techniques. Gillian will not only show you how to prepare authentic dishes, but will also tell you the stories and cultural background to them. The menu starts with Kachumbari Mango, a refreshing Kenyan salad with a sweet and fruity note. It continues with Mutura, a traditional Kenyan sausage, accompanied by a spicy tamarind sauce that will tickle your taste buds. For the main course, immerse yourself in the essence of Kenyan cuisine: ugali, a cornmeal dish served with sukuma wiki, a hearty vegetable dish - a true classic that is a must in any Kenyan kitchen. The sweet finale is Dates Cookies in Coconut Mango Cream, which taste simply heavenly with their exotic combination of coconut and mango. This dessert is accompanied by a warm, aromatic Kenyan chai, which perfectly rounds off the taste of the day.
