After Nature. Ulrike Crespo Photography Prize 24

Laura Huertas Millán (*1983, Colombia) and Sarker Protick (*1986, Bangladesh) are the winners of the "After Nature . Ulrike Crespo Photography Prize 2024". Their double exhibition "Curanderxs" (Laura Huertas Millán) and "অঙ্গার . Awngar" (Sarker Protick) was on display at C/O Berlin until January 2025 and is now coming to Crespo Open Space. With the "After Nature. Ulrike Crespo Photography Prize", the Crespo Foundation and C/O Berlin have initiated a format that supports two projects each year that open up new perspectives on nature in photography and visual media. The works created in the context of the prize sharpen the eye for complex global connections and invite the public to question supposed certainties: When did we learn to ignore the consequences of massive interventions in the landscape to extract raw materials? Where does the idea of being able to freely dispose of nature and the people who inhabit it come from?
