Gref-Völsings
Karl Gref and Wilhelmine Völsing married in 1894 and founded the Gref Völsings butcher's shop together in the same year. Now run by the fifth generation, the popular beef sausage in particular has become an integral part of Frankfurt, even far from the city limits, and has certainly made it as a souvenir to even the most distant countries. It is sold through dozens of retailers, and in Ostend there is a roastery and lunch counter for hungry Gref-Völsings fans.
