Michael Wollny Trio with 'Live 2025' at the Alte Oper
Michael Wollny is a welcome guest at the Alte Oper. This time, he and his trio will make the Great Hall vibrate. If there is one constant in the pianist's work, it is undoubtedly his work with his trio formation. "The trio has been my main line-up for years, with Tim Lefebvre and Eric Schaefer," says Michael Wollny. "This is the core project for me, where I keep asking myself: How can a piano trio sound now?" It is precisely this "now" that is echoed in the simple title of the new tour that Wollny and his comrades-in-arms are taking to the Alte Oper: "Live 2025" stands for a highly topical stocktaking, for the goal of creating something new and surprising on the basis of long-standing musical friendships.
