Topped off with a visit to "Roses from the South", the New Year's concert by the Neue Philharmonie Frankfurt. Naturally including a glass of sparkling wine to lighten the feet & a pretzel for refreshment. And as it already suggests, one thing comes to mind when you think of roses from the south: Waltzes and bliss and of course a large portion of humor with funny comedy elements. Uniquely in Germany, a one-hour dance course will take place before the concert in the Alte Oper. Learn or brush up on the waltz and polka over a glass of sparkling wine and let yourself be seduced by the 3/4 beat. And who better than Thomas Bäppler-Wolf, alias Bäppi, to seduce you with the ¾ beat? As a trained dance teacher, he will get you in the mood for the concert and turn the beginning of the year into a very special experience with plenty of humor. After the 1-hour dance class, you will move from the Hindemith Hall, fortified by a pretzel, to the main hall of the Opera House and enjoy "Roses from the South - the concert for the New Year with the Neue Philharmonie Frankfurt under the direction of chief conductor Jens Troester. La dolce vita, from the Lagoon Waltz to the Tritsch-Tratsch-Polka, from sparkling operetta to sun-ripened hits, from Venice's gondolas to the fishermen of Capri. There's something for everyone here to get the new year off to a lively start ...!
